Caramel Apple Cake

This is a simple, delicious autumn recipe.  With only four ingredients, it is super easy and quick to make!  I actually added a fifth ingredient, Hershey’s Cinnamon Baking Chips because I love the combination of cinnamon and apples.  They are so good but  pretty hard to find.  I live in upstate New York and I have only been able to find them at Shop Rite stores.

Get out ingredients.

Add cake mix,  eggs, apple pie filling, and 1/4 cup caramel. With electric mixer, beat 1-2 minutes.

Add  cinnamon chips and fold into batter.

Pour batter into greased 9×13 pan and bake 30-35 minutes at 350 degrees.

Remove from oven and pour remaining caramel sauce over cake.  The cake will absorb most of the sauce as it begins to cool.

Serve with vanilla ice cream. So good!

Caramel Apple Cake (Adapted from The Country Cook)


1 (18.5 oz) package yellow cake mix

1 (21 oz) can apple pie filling

2 eggs, beaten

1 (12 oz) jar caramel ice cream topping, divided

1 cup Hershey’s Cinnamon Baking Chips


Preheat oven to 35o degrees.

Grease 9×13 dish.

In bowl, combine cake mix, beaten eggs, pie filling, and 1/4 cup of caramel topping.

With electric mixer, beat 1-2 minutes.

Fold in 1 cup of cinnamon chips.

Pour batter into greased pan.

Bake for 30-35 minutes or until toothpick inserted comes out clean.

Immediately, pour the remaining caramel topping over cake.
