These cookie bars taste just like a peanut butter cookie with rich chocolate in the middle. I love the combination of chocolate and peanut butter. And even better it is a cake mix recipe so it’s pretty easy. Unfortunately, my son is allergic to peanut butter and on the ride to church he had to put the window down in the car because he hates the smell of peanut butter too. Poor kid! I promised him next Sunday I will not make anything with peanut butter in it, lol.
Combine cake mix, melted butter, peanut butter, and eggs in a large bowl using a mixer or spoon.
The crust will be sticky (this picture only shows half.)
Spread crust into greased 9×13 pan and bake for 10 minutes on 350 degrees.
Meanwhile, melt condensed milk, chocolate chips, and butter.
When completely melted, add vanilla extract.
Spread melted chocolate mixture on the semi-baked crust.
Crumble remaining cake mixture on top of chocolate layer and bake 25-30 minutes more.
Cool completely before cutting into bars.
